The GDPR wants marketing denied until a visitor agrees. The CCPA runs the other way, as an opt-out. Region rules give each visitor the right starting state, so one banner answers both without a second install for the US.

California treats a browser opt-out signal as a request you have to honour. Consent Studio reads GPC and can apply it before the banner is ever shown, on every plan.

How to set up cookie consent for Wix
Four steps, none of which involve code. The install is the connection, so there is no separate authorising step to remember.
Add your site in Consent Studio
Create the site and the banner is generated for your domain, with your categories, your text and your styling. This is where everything about how the banner looks and behaves is decided, and none of it has to be repeated on the Wix side afterwards.
Install the app from the Wix App Market
Find Consent Studio in the Wix App Market and install it on the site you want. The install is what creates the connection, so there is no separate authorise step and no site to pick afterwards: a Wix install is one site, chosen at the moment you install it. From that point the banner is published to your site for you.
Switch the Wix integration on
Open Web CMP and go to Integrations, then enable the Wix Consent Policy API. This is the half that decides what Wix does once a visitor has answered. It is separate from the install for a reason worth knowing: the app puts the banner on the site, and the integration is what makes Wix itself respect the answer.
Set your three defaults
Analytics and marketing start denied and functional starts granted. Change them only on purpose: granted means Wix acts on that category before your visitor has answered, which is right for opt-out regions and wrong anywhere prior consent is required. Marketing is the one to think hardest about, because it governs third-party data sharing as well as advertising.

Frequently asked questions about Wix
Does Wix have a built-in cookie banner?
Wix offers a cookie notice, and it is a notice rather than a consent platform. It can tell visitors that cookies are used; what it does not do on its own is hold a record of who agreed to what, produce that record on request, or govern the tools you added yourself. Those are the parts a consent platform exists for.
What is the Wix Consent Policy API?
It is Wix’s own interface for telling a Wix site what a visitor consented to. It carries five categories: essential, functional, analytics, advertising and data sharing with third parties. Consent Studio sets all five from your visitor’s answer, so Wix holds back what it is not allowed to do.
Do I need to add code to a Wix site to use Consent Studio?
No. Installing the Consent Studio app from the Wix App Market publishes the banner to your site for you, and there is nothing to paste. Adding the snippet through Wix’s own custom code settings is available if you would rather place it yourself, but it is the alternative rather than the requirement.
Does refusing marketing stop Wix sharing data with third parties?
Yes. Consent Studio sets Wix’s advertising category and its third-party data sharing category from the same marketing answer, because Wix treats them as one opt-in. A visitor who declines advertising is not shared onward either, without you configuring anything separately.
What happens if I remove the app from Wix?
The connection ends and the banner stops being published to that site. Consent Studio removes the embed it created on the Wix side, and tolerates it already being gone if you deleted it yourself first. Reconnecting means installing the app again from the App Market rather than re-authorising.
