Monthly Consent Actions (MCAs) represent the number of consent interactions we store in your consent log each month. These records are kept for 12 months and help measure actual usage of the Consent Management Platform (CMP).

Each plan includes a monthly MCA allowance. If you exceed this allowance, additional usage is billed at €3 per 100,000 extra consent actions during that same month. This count will reset to €0 again in the following month and does not change your subscription permanently.

We believe this is the fairest and most transparent way to charge for a CMP. Other common billing metrics—like sessions, page views, or page count—can be misleading. For example:

• Sessions and page views are often inflated by bots and non-human traffic.
• Page counts don’t reflect how much the CMP is actually being used.
• With those models, you might end up paying for traffic that never interacts with your consent banner at all.

By focusing on actual consent interactions, MCAs ensure you’re only paying for real, meaningful usage.

Both plans include the full Consent Stack: Cookie Banner, Scanner, Declaration, Google and UET Consent Mode, the 12-month Consent Log, and the same European-owned, green-energy infrastructure. The differences come down to three things: how many consent interactions are included each month, how deep the feature set goes, and whether you ever need to think about add-ons.

Essential (€10/month) is built for most websites. It comes with 200,000 Monthly Consent Actions, 5 languages, 1 geotargeting rule, 3 no-code integrations, 2 collaborators, and 2 Domain Aliases. If you need more of any of these, you can add extras at €2/month per unit (extra integrations, languages, or geotargeting rules), and you can top up MCAs at €3 per extra 100.000. You only pay for the extras you actually enable and MCA charges reset in the following month. MCA charges are never permanent changes to your subscription.

Professional (€36/month) is built for teams that need depth without compromise. It lifts every per-domain limit and adds the features marketing and analytics teams typically reach for: HTTP Consent Cookies (which bypass Safari's ITP), Consent Re-Prompting (re-ask consent when policies change), On-Demand Scans, Sitemap-Based Scanning, Advanced Customisation, and a custom logo on the banner. MCA inclusion doubles to 400,000 per month. Languages, integrations, geotargeting rules, and collaborators all become unlimited, and every add-on is included for free, so there is nothing to add or bill on top.

A simple way to choose. If you're running a single site and 200.000 monthly consent interactions is comfortably more than you need, Essential is usually the right starting point, and you can add the few extras you need as you grow. If you're running multilingual or multi-region sites, want HTTP Consent Cookies for accurate ad attribution, or simply don't want add-on accounting every month, Professional is the simpler choice.

HTTP Consent Cookies are consent-related cookies set directly via an HTTP response from your own domain, rather than through JavaScript from an external source.

Consent Studio enables this by using a CNAME record and/or a Cloudflare Worker, allowing these cookies to be set as first-party HTTP cookies. This approach bypasses Intelligent Tracking Prevention (ITP) in browsers like Safari and Firefox, which often block or shorten the lifespan of third-party or JavaScript-set cookies.

By setting cookies via HTTP under your domain, consent states can persist for much longer—up to a full year—instead of being limited to just 7 days or less by ITP. This ensures more stable and reliable consent tracking, improving both compliance and user experience.

Consent Reprompting is a feature that gives you a chance to ask visitors to reconsider a previous denial of consent, without being intrusive.

In Consent Studio, this works through a probability-based system. For each non-essential category (like marketing or analytics), you can define a chance that a visitor who previously chose “deny” will be asked again if they want to update their choice. This only applies to users who initially rejected consent for that category.

When a visitor “wins” this reprompt chance (a sort of lottery), they’ll see a subtle prompt asking if they’d like to reconsider. Functional (strictly necessary) cookies are never included in reprompting.

This approach allows for periodic re-engagement without being pushy, helping you regain lost consent over time while staying compliant and respectful.

Paying customers can choose to hide the Consent Studio logo for a more white-label experience. Trial users will always see the logo by default.

We currently don’t support adding custom logos. This is a deliberate choice. Our goal is to keep banners as concise and distraction-free as possible, to maintain clarity and improve user interaction.

Geotargeting Rules let you control how your consent banner behaves based on a visitor’s region, as determined by our system.

You can target one or multiple countries per rule, and use predefined zones like ALL_EU or NON_EU for easier setup. This allows you to adapt banner behavior, language, and consent categories to match local privacy laws and user expectations.

For non-EU countries, you have the option to skip showing the banner entirely and automatically grant consent for all categories. In this case, the banner behaves as an opt-out mechanism: the small consent toggle remains visible in the corner (bottom right or left), allowing users to review or change their preferences at any time.

If we can’t determine a visitor’s country, your default banner settings will be applied. This ensures full coverage and compliance across all visitor scenarios.

Yes, Consent Studio supports team collaboration on shared domains.

Each domain can have multiple collaborators who can manage banner settings, integrations, and compliance configurations together. The Essential plan includes 2 collaborators, while the Professional plan offers unlimited collaborators.

Importantly, if the domain is linked to a Consent Studio partner account, team members from that partner do not count toward the collaborator limit, regardless of the plan the domain is on. This makes it easy for partners to manage and support client projects without using up collaborator slots.
